History of facility management
Although the field of facility management is very specific and marketing in this area is done exclusively as B2B marketing , the history of the establishment of the IFMA association is also interesting. Here, at Idealab, our work for several clients was beautifully connected (and not for the first time), because the international IFMA was founded in 1978. And the famous furniture company Herman Miller was at the birth at that time.

In 1978, Herman Miller held a conference in the USA on kazakhstan telemarketing the topic of the Impact of Facility Management on Productivity. It was there that the three founders of the future IFMA – Georg Graves, Charles Hitch and David Armstrong – met. They felt the need to find common ways to respond to the changing work environment and two years later the National Facility Management Association was established. And because Canada also wanted to join, they changed the name a year later to the International Facility Management Association (today's IFMA). It has been operating under this name for more than four decades. European countries joined the association in the early 1990s, first England, then the Scandinavian countries, France and the Benelux countries. In the mid-1990s, Germany, Austria and Switzerland also joined.

Czech Association IFMA
The founder of the Czech branch of IFMA was Ondřej Štrup in 2000. He also became the first president of the association. Ondřej made a fundamental contribution to the promotion and development of the FM department. Today, IFMA in the Czech Republic has more than 100 members, six active working sections and organizes a number of educational seminars and webinars. The highlight event is the Facility Management Week every year in the fall.
