It was previously announced that the waste of sacrificial animals in the capital would be removed within 24 hours. Accordingly, Dhaka North and South City Corporations have started removing the waste from the sacrificial animals from 2 pm.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the work of removing sacrificial animal waste at Kawartek Pashurhat adjacent to Dholaikhal on Wednesday (August 22) afternoon.
On the other hand, at the same time, Dhaka North City Corporation c level contact list (DNCC) Panel Mayor Jamal Mustafa inaugurated the waste removal program at Pashurhat near Bridge No. 2 of Sector 15, Uttara.
Two CEOs were present with the mayors during the inauguration.
During the inauguration of the sacrificial waste removal program, Mayor Sayeed Khokon said that sacrificial animal waste will be removed in the two city corporation areas within the next 24 hours.
Seeking the cooperation of the city residents, the mayor said, "If you see any kind of waste lying anywhere, please call our designated call center." DNCC Panel Mayor Jamal Mustafa is inaugurating the sacrificial animal waste removal program. I would like to appeal to the city residents to perform the sacrificial animal sacrifice at the designated place. After the sacrifice, wash the blood of the animal thoroughly with water. We have already delivered bleaching powder to you. Wash the place where the animal is slaughtered thoroughly with that bleaching powder. We have provided bags from the corporation. Fill the sacrificial animal waste in that bag and throw it in the garbage container. With your awareness and overall cooperation, I want to gift a clean city to the people of Dhaka by removing the sacrificial animal waste within the next 24 hours.
Sayeed Khokon said, "We started this program a while ago. Within the next 24 hours, the North City Corporation and the South City Corporation will remove the waste of sacrificial animals and present a clean city to the beloved city dwellers of this city."
He said, "If you see sacrificial animal waste lying in someone's yard or neighborhood during our scheduled time, please call our call center. Our number is 09611000999."
The mayor said, "Last year, we removed about 20,000 tons of waste. We are fully prepared to remove this amount of waste this time as well. We will deliver a clean city within the time frame announced by the two city corporations."
He said, "The second day of sacrifice is also being held in Old Dhaka. As such, we expect to remove 95 percent of the waste within 24 hours. We will remove the remaining 5 percent of the waste immediately. We will also be ready for the third day of sacrifice. Our activities will continue until our city is clean.
We have designated about 602 places. There was adequate management. But so far we have not received any help from the city residents. We still request the respected citizens, we have the management, slaughter the animal at your designated place."
A lot of waste from sacrificial animals is thrown into drains and sewers. What will be done about this waste? When asked by journalists, the mayor said, "We have adequate equipment. The places where waste has been thrown into drains or sewers will also be cleaned."
On the other hand, Panel Mayor Jamal Mustafa said, "We will remove all the waste within 24 hours. Our activities are being carried out in a proper manner."
