Chinese social network QQ was launched in 1999 by Tencent. QQ's monthly active users (MAU) peaked at 899 million in 2016. The main reason is that WeChat has been growing year on year while QQ has been shrinking.
Does this mean that Chinese social network QQ is no longer popular?
The answer is no. QQ is widely used by 15 to 25 year olds. This is the student age. It can be said that students use WeChat less often than QQ.
WeChat users are mostly over 16 years old. But the Chinese social network QQ is now developing mainly for the younger generation. As the number of QQ users decreases every year, Tencent decided to attract more younger generations.
Chinese social network QQ is so similar to WeChat that they both have costa rica email address instant messaging, payments, video, audio calls, nearby features, etc.
What makes QQ so special? Why is Chinese social network QQ still popular?
• QQ has many amine themes and skin designs that are most liked by the younger generation.
• Q-zone (Q-zone is a place for microblogs)
• New feature “小世界” – built-in short video app.
• Fashionable and creative user interface design
• QQ PC version has many free tools such as:
Screenshots,
Screen sharing (start a meeting),
Remote desktop control, Fast file transfer, etc.
• QQ Mail (You have registered a QQ account, you also have a qq email address)
Note: Q-zone was a built-in QQ app (same as Facebook Feed) where you can publish content. So there is no need to rank it separately.
As for me, I still use QQ for work communication or file transfer. No matter how many users WeChat has, I will still prefer to use QQ when necessary.
