2. Burger King
Leading company that often carries out viral and far-reaching campaigns due to the controversy they generate. We highlight 2 of its campaigns:
The first one questions whether people prefer a friend or a burger . Using a Facebook app, the brand offered you a coupon worth a burger in exchange for removing friends from your profile . It was so successful that Facebook closed the app, but more than 200,000 people had already been “sacrificed.”
The second campaign is Whopper Sellout, a campaign that gave you the choice between remaining a true fan of their page or being banished from it in exchange for a burger from the competition, a Big Mac . They managed to reduce their fans by 30,000 people, but they kept the real ones and optimized their profile.
