The CoronaCultura award was created this year in Spain to recognize projects that have generated cultural proposals adapted to the pandemic.
Specifically, the Fundació Antigues Caixes Catalanes and BBVA overseas chinese in australia promoted the CoronaCultura award to honour cultural innovation in times of COVID-19 in Catalonia (Spain), with the motto “we move for culture”.
The La Sardina Cultural Association , which emerged during the lockdown, received the first prize . “A project that has highlighted music and its professionals and has sought to promote interaction between artists, actors in the music industry and their audiences, creating small-scale meeting formats,” the promoters of the competition said in a press release.
The El Genet Blau library won the second prize for the project Storytelling by phone . After the libraries closed, storytelling sessions were published on their Facebook and Instagram profiles for more than a month and a half to alleviate the effects of inactivity.
The La Ira Teatro Association won the third prize with the Immersive Streaming project. The objective was to offer a theatrical show from home, where the camera “simulated the viewer’s gaze.”
86 cultural projects from various fields were submitted to the competition: music, performing arts, literature, audiovisual and multidisciplinary arts.
During the lockdown, other cultural initiatives were seen to entertain viewers. For example, many museums opted to offer virtual tours. Landmark buildings could also be visited online .
FUNIBER sponsors numerous university programs focused on offering professionals complete and up-to-date information on the importance of developing cultural projects. One of the courses offered is the Master's Degree in Cultural Project Management .
