Hélder Batista is a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker City and has just signed a contract to publish his first book. In this interview with CASAFARI, Hélder talks to us about his values ​​and motivations as a real estate agent.

Portugal has a reputation for being a great country to invest in – how will this investment change the real estate market?
Everyone is talking about Portugal and they have good reason to do so. It is a very safe country with a magnificent climate.

The real estate market has implemented a series of measures that have contributed to the transformation of the country and Lisbon in particular, such as tax benefits that have attracted many national and international investments. With the public works that are being carried out, the real estate reform of the city is a reality.

Investors in local or long-term housing can expect a higher return, as some adjustments are still being made to boost the property market and long-term rentals. Portugal and Lisbon are undoubtedly experiencing the best times in their history; when you come to Lisbon, you enjoy a unique experience, and that is what attracts people.

Is investment only in cities or also in the surrounding areas?
I would say that, although cities ebay database continue to attract a lot of national and international investment, the surrounding areas are starting to attract more attention: due to inflation in city centres, people are starting to look for alternatives in more favourable locations, at a better price and with higher quality, which is reactivating the real estate market on the outskirts of the city.

Even foreign clients have started to turn to us for areas outside Lisbon.

Proptechs have arrived. How do you see their impact on the Portuguese real estate market?
I have been observing the evolution of Proptech for four years and I believe that it is something that our sector needs. I am optimistic and I believe that it will be a good thing for clients, while for agents it will allow them to provide a better service and assign less important tasks to Artificial Intelligence.

It took us by surprise at first, but we will end up adopting it. It will help us to be more human, and our customers will be the winners.

Anyone who knows me knows that I like to live life with passion for what I do. In the book I say that I am a real estate agent, but the book is not about that. People are going to know the story of Hélder Batista, which could be anyone's.

You have 27 thousand followers on Instagram. As a real estate professional, how useful is it to use social media to reach your audience? How does sharing your life make a difference?
Across all my social media accounts, I have over fifty thousand followers, but that's not what inspires me. Being able to show my work and my day-to-day life in an authentic and real way is what makes sense to me. The connection I have with people is what inspires me, as well as being able to share experiences, useful information, and answer questions cordially.

This is what makes the difference – this is what customers want, as well as efficiency, warmth and quick responses. My mission is to give people what they want, sincerely, with passion, and I am happy doing it.
